Breanne Seward – Dec. 1/09

bre

So it’s officially December 1st and Christmas is just around the corner. This is my favourite time of year!  I get to spend more time with family and friends and I really cherish these times together.  As for training I’ve increased my training to six days per week taking Sunday’s off to relax.  As for cardio I am doing 30 minutes for six days /week on an empty stomach cardio to get some fat off.

As for some advice during this time of year, I recommend you plan your cheat days. Ideally, you should only have one a week – and you should be sure you plan ahead for it. For example, if you’re going to a Christmas party on Saturday night, that should be your cheat night. Don’t overdo it!

Also, remember that cocktails are full of empty calories. If you’re going to drink, try and do it only on your cheat night and moreover, try to go for a low calorie option. Try vodka and water with a slice of lime, or use a diet juice for mix. I recently found a cranberry pomegranate juice that has only 10 calories – this is a much better alternative to regular cranberry juice that usually packs high sugar and high calories. A few drinks can add up very fast.

Also, on your cheat day, try to do a bit more cardio in the morning to compensate for the night’s intake.  My last tip for surviving the holiday season is to make sure you eat before you go to a party. This will help prevent you from stuffing your face with high calorie foods that aren’t part of my program.

I personally love doing cardio first thing in the morning – especially during the holiday season. It makes me feel awake and helps me distress during the busy holiday season. We all know you Christmas shopping and social events throughout December can add to our normal daily stress. I just listen to my iPod and run my stress away.

Also make sure you’re taking your supplements. If you’re not already taking it, Hemodrene - Nutrabolics’ 6-in-1 Fat Burner – is a great supplement for the Holiday season. It will not only increase your energy, it also helps burn fat!

XOXO
